This section should describe how the different variables measured or computed in your study are related to one another. If desired, it can present some of the history behind how these relationships were developed. Unless you are using an original equation that you developed, you will normally just present the pertinent equations along with citations to the literature or texts which describe them. The derivation of equations, if necessary, should be included as an appendix unless the derivation is very short. This should not include discussions on how to solve the equations or on other manipulations that are used to analyze the data. Such information should be presented either with the results or in an appendix. |
