Grades will be based on a total of 500 points that are distributed as follows:

50* - Pre-lab quiz as group leader
50 - Oral presentation as group leader
75 - Written group report as group leader
25** - Performance evaluation by group as group leader

3 x 25* - Post- lab quiz as group member
3 x 50 - Written group report as group member
3 x 25*** - Performance evaluation by group leader as group member

*If you miss class and do not take the quiz you will get a 0; no make-up quiz will be given. If you have a conflict, make arrangements with me prior to the quiz. If a medical or other emergency occurs, let me know as soon as possible and obtain documentation (e.g. a doctor's note); if possible, let me know before the quiz. Contact information is at the bottom of this and every page on this site.

**If as group leader, you forget to turn in the evaluation of your group members you will get a 0 for this item, despite what the group members' evaluations say. If no group members turn in their evaluations you will get 25 for this item; if some or all turn in evaluations you will get the average of their ratings.

***If as a group member you forget to turn in an evaluation of your group leader you will get a 0 for this item, despite what your group leader's evaluation of you says. If your group leader forgets to turn in their evaluation, you will get a 25 for this item.

Point values will be indicated on pre-lab and post-lab quizzes. Follow the link above for the oral presentation to see what it should include and how it will be graded. Do likewise for the written presentation.

A point total of 450 will guarantee an A for the lab; 400 will guarantee a B; 350 will guarantee a C; and 300 will guarantee a D. Grade cutoffs may be curved lower than this, but they will not go higher.
