In honor of MIT Professor Howard Brenner, PhD, pioneer of Low Reynolds Number Hydrodynamics on the 10th anniversary of his passing.
A Life @ Low Reynolds Number gathers former students, postdocs and colleagues of Howard Brenner, as well as fluid mechanicians, physicists, and biological and pharmaceutical scientists, whose work today carries on and applies the pioneering work that Howard began. Special sessions on multi-phase flow, interfacial transport, and transport in biological systems will highlight contemporary pioneering work in these parallel fields where Howard Brenner was active. The conference will include a keynote address by National Academy of Engineering President John L. Anderson, whose work with Howard at Carnegie Mellon, and in subsequent years at the University of Rochester and MIT spanned several decades.
