Two types of polymers
Thermoplastic polymers
- Linearly structured with slight branching from the base units
- Formed upon heating
Thermoset polymers
- Formed with irreversible cross-linkages of covalent bonds during polymerization, or post-polymerization treatments
- Cannot be heat softened
