• Best known for chemical inertness, high heat tolerance, low friction properties, excellent dielectric and weathering properties and flame resistant

• Stiff and tend to kink

• Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)

  • Widely used for electrical insulation and heat shrink applications
  • Resistance to solvents and corrosives
  • High continuous use temp. (287 oC)

• Fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP)

  • Clear , melt-processible polymer, close to PTFE
  • Higher continuos temp. (204 oC)
